" Deltana Fair a Stitch in Time 2009 " Fair Quilt I made with t-shirts from Ann Geise who ran the pr for the fair for many years.  I donated the quilt back to Ann after completion.  The Deltana Fair has been active since 1980 and this quilt has 12 years of quilt logos represented plus the 30th Anniversary Logo on the back as a label.

This is Leah's quilt that I finally finished and had quilted by lovely Shana (www.showstopperquilts.com).  She does a spectacular job and adds such art! This is a design called Snapshots that I took in a workshop with an Alaskan teacher.

This quilt is classy yet understated, just like our lovely Leah!

Disappearing 9 Patch
Disappearing 9 Patch
This quilt is called the "Disappearing 9 Patch" and was taught by Maribeth Miller, owner of The Calico Cow Quilt Shop in Delta Junction.

It was fun and fast to make.  I used kind of country Christmas fabric and than gave it a punch with a grid fabric that complimented the colors in the quilt.

Tennessee Waltz Quilt
Tennessee Waltz Quilt
This was a quilt we worked on at the Spring Fling.  It was fun and we had a great teacher, Joyce, from Fairbanks.  I used Barbara LaVallee (sp?) print - which is Alaska scene print using bold colors and scenes from Alaska.   I sent this to brother Ron for his BD.

Buggy Barn Churndash
Buggy Barn Churndash
This is a quilt for a friend in Fairbanks.  I used Alaskan based batiks and did the Buggy Barn Churndash.  Buggy Barns are stacks of material and then shuffled to give each block similar but varied prints.  Its fun and a bit tricky, they can be very frustrating and both rewarding.  Not without mistakes, this is fun and is originally suppose to be done in wools.

Delta Bison pattern by Alaska resident, Mary Stenros.  Created by Ruby Hollembaek and quilted by Gayle Eastwood.  Fun, quick and so much going on.  I love Mary's work.  I like to put it on some subtle soft printed background such as this rose patterned white.  Too much going on in the background doesn't allow the full stencil to come through.

This quilt is donated to the National Bison Association for their January raffle.

Saint Nicolaus Quilt taught by Joyce.  You'll notice that this was my second "Buggy Barn" quilt and Santa's feet are going backwards on some and some have the wrong boots on.  You know, I just said that Santa had too much eggnog that night:)

Description follows in regard to the collage you see.

This was a VERY simple strip quilt that I made for Buck.  I wanted something warm, a bit masculine and fall colors.  I think I took 2 or maybe 3 rolls of 2.5" strips and sewed them together in blocks, squared them off and sewed them together.  It was fast and ready for my friend, Pam, to quilt up. I used flannel for the backing so its extra warm for our winter and apparently springs (it's still -30oF to -40oF here in the interior in March-which is Buckley's BD).

This quilt was created using layer cakes and jelly rolls. I made it for long time friend, Mary Leith-Dowling.  She and I went to UAF together, now we are both retired teachers (she a librarian).  She decided to return to the school district as a library aide and is also our own Delta's mayor.

She needed something warm to cuddle with through our Delta winters.  I put flannel on the backside just for that purpose.

A Strip Happy quilt made with 2 1/2" strips.  Very lively.  Reminds me of starbursts.  I put lime green minky on the back and although it is polyester backing, its very snugly.  Just right for new mommy, daughter-in-law Christy, to stay warm as she's up late at night with our new granddaughter, Becca Faith.

Landon's wildlife quilt "turning 20".  Full of pics of Alaskan wildlife and endangered species print.

Janet's mom, Helen, was needing something to keep her legs warm during the day and evenings.  I whipped up this gramma quilt using fun material, backed it with red flannel and bound it with the same.  No pattern.
